Bethany Montana
"I design jewelry to create a bond between a treasured object and its possessor."
Bethany Montana’s love for jewelry-making began in high school and continued through college. In 2009, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture with a concentration in jewelry from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Her skills flourished as she worked alongside professional artists, honing her techniques through experimentation.
Drawing inspiration from Victorian-era jewelry, the intricate beauty of botanical specimens, and the vast wonders of astronomy, Bethany strives to create designs that are both delicate and bold—cherished for everyday wear yet uniquely striking for special occasions. As she puts it, “Not all designs start on a drawing board; sometimes, you just need the raw elements in your hands to be inspired.”
Bethany carefully balances structure and composition with practical wearability in her work. She handcrafts her jewelry from precious metals, gemstones, and cast elements, employing techniques such as soldering, hand-forging, and custom setting. Many of her pieces feature 23 Karat gold leaf and a variety of colorful stones, adding a touch of elegance to every design.
