This commanding steel Labyrinth Pendant from jewelry artist Bette Barnett is a testament to the raw elegance of deconstructed form. The surface of the contemporary pendant has been so deeply etched that voids remain where metal was entirely consumed, creating a visual contrast between positive and negative spaces. The steel, rich with layered textures, was further refined to sculpt a sinewy, organic silhouette. Accents of 24 Karat gold, bonded to the surface using Keum Boo, punctuate the dark patinated steel. Monumental in scale, yet refined in detail, the unique piece suggests both strength and movement. This one-of-a-kind pendant, which is 3" wide and 4" high, is presented on a 20" long, 2 mm wide woven steel cable chain with a black hook clasp.
