Keiko Mita discovered metal craft while studying fine arts in Japan. Initially she produced large, embossed works, but eventually she turned her attention to sculpture, objects of art, and ultimately jewelry. Her modern Square Pearl Earrings, which feature 6.5-7.0 mm Freshwater Pearls, are handmade from 14 Karat Yellow Gold and Oxidized Sterling Silver with 0.04 Carats (total weight) Diamond accents. The unique earrings from her Moire Collection are 17 mm long and 10 mm wide. Moiré is the pattern that occurs naturally between interfacing grids. This contemporary jewelry collection explores positive and negative space and the designs created by simple clean lines and overlapping patterns.
